Stress Does Not Just Go Away

Stress is one of the leading causes for mental and physical health problems. There are many ways to manage and reduce stress in your everyday life, e.g. exercise, meditation, sufficient sleep, etc. Regular MASSAGE THERAPY is one of the most effective ways to reduce stress. It's good for you, your health, and the people you interact with.

I hope this finds you and your family in good health. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: my commitment to your health and safety.

Because of the considerable risks Covid-19 poses to massage/bodywork clients as well as the practitioner, I have decided that I will not yet reopen my practice to perform full massages. The very nature of massage/bodywork (close contact in close proximity, closed room) increases the risk of infection by the coronavirus.

As we navigate through life with additional requirements due to Covid19, I hope to bring some relaxation to you by offering reflexology treatments instead. To further mitigate some of the risks involved I will only perform the treatment on an outcall basis, in an outdoors environment like on a porch, backyard, etc., and with adherence to U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations such as wearing masks, using hand sanitizer, and infection control measures. I will bring a zero-gravity chair which will afford some measure of social distancing compared to regular massages.

I have implemented some procedures to follow before your appointment. I made these changes to help protect my clients and myself. For example:

  • I will communicate with you before your appointment by sending you the intake sheet and the health questionnaire to obtain your health information and ask you specifically about your potential exposure to COVID-19. Please fill out the forms and email them to me before we meet.
  • I’ll call you on the day of your appointment to ask you whether you have developed any symptoms of illness since you sent back the intake forms. If you feel ill on the day of your session, please cancel your appointment. The treatment is not advised if you have any symptoms of illness.
  • Please use a face mask at all times during our interaction. I will do the same.
  • The intake forms which you need to sign include an informed consent form that states, “I understand that close contact with people increases the risk of infection from COVID-19. By signing this form, I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved and give consent to receive reflexology treatment from this practitioner.”

I look forward to seeing you again and am happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps I have taken to keep you, and every client, safe in my practice. To make an appointment, please call me at 703-623-2466. My practice is scheduled to open as soon as COVID infections have dropped to an acceptable level.

NOTE: Symptoms of COVID-19, waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test, and a positive COVID-19 test contraindicate reflexology treatment.

NOTE:  Unless otherwise directed by the client’s primary healthcare provider, clients at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 should forgo treatments while the virus is present in their communities.

High Risk Clients are clients who present with the following conditions:

People 65 years or older <> Chronic lung disease <> Moderate/severe asthma <> Heart conditions <> Compromised/suppressed immunity <> Severe obesity <> Diabetes <> Chronic kidney disease <> Liver disease
